Olly Bryant got off to the perfect start at Barcelona for the opening round of the 2025 2.0L Cup Championship. Driving solo, as car owner and team boss, Kyle Tilley was on Ferrari driving duties in Mugello, Olly qualified on pole position on a drying track before going on to secure victory and maximum points in a rain-affected race on Sunday morning.
Due to having to serve a 40 seconds pit stop penalty due to elite driver grading, Olly had to push throughout and was engaged in a race-long battle with Xavier Dayraut. Olly kept the Era Motorsport prepared car in the top 3 throughout the opening portion of the race, before attacking as the circuit dried to pass Dayraut just before the pitstops. Due to the extra time spent in the pits, Olly emerged in sixth place over 30 seconds down on the leaders.
Pushing flat out, Olly managed to catch and pass his competitors and lead heading into the final 10 minutes to claim a hard-fought race victory. Spa Classic is the next outing in May (again driving solo) before Kyle returns to Dijon in June.
