Last lap excitement for Olly at Imola- 2.0L Cup- 27th July 2025

Olly continued his run of 2.0L cup success at Imola. Sharing with car owner and team boss Kyle Tilley , the duo topped the qualifying session by 0.5s on combined lap times. Kyle took the start and lead all the way to the stops chased hard by Albrecht & Perez . An early safety car eroded a well built lead and it was too early to make the driver change. Kyle stayed out until 37 minutes into the race when he boxed to hand over to Olly. The Era motorsport team serviced the car perfectly and Olly resumed down in P6 and set after leaders to make up for the 40 seconds elite driver penalty.

Another safety car was deployed when Olly was running in P5, which allowed him to close the gap to the leaders. With 30 minutes to go, the race resumed and Olly wasted no time to pass Vanhauter & Danglard , whilst the number 10 columbian driven machine suffered an electrical issue. Olly set about to close the gap to leader Perez.

Chipping away into the leading margin sometimes at just tenths per lap, Olly continued to keep up the pressure whilst setting fastest lap after fastest lap. Starting the final tour, Olly was just 0.5 seconds behind the leader. Perez defended into and out of the hairpin, allowing Olly a run going into Toza, he managed to make the move stick and set his fastest final sector time of the race whilst pushing to make sure Perez couldn’t retake the position. To the delight of the Era team, the number 60 “Queen of Diamonds” 911 crossed the line just 0.7s in front to claim the car’s 4th win of the season.
