SPA 6 HOUR MEETING 25-26-27 September 2009 |
3rd Overall in the Spa 6 hours: AC Cobra

After two years of finishing in 4th place, the famous AC Cobra “GPG 4C” came home in 3rd place closely behind the rapid AC Cobra of David Hart, Rob Hall andJeroen Bleekemolen and the winning GT40 of Shaun Lynn and Andrew Haddon.
Olly Bryant qualified the car 4th on the 100 car grid after a blistering lap of 2min50s to out-qualify 4 of the 7 GT40’s and all of the other AC Cobras.
Grahame Bryant started the race and lost ground initially before settling into a good rhythm and hanging onto the back of the David Hart Cobra, being started by Rob Hall. It was decided to pit Grahame at just over the 90-minute mark in order to avoid the lengthy queues at the fuel pumps that cost the car so much time the previous year. Just before the end of his stint, a Corvette blew up depositing its oil onto the circuit. Grahame spun on this oil and the cobra went into the gravel at Stavelot, fortunately he was able to drive out and only lose 35 seconds.

5th March 2010
Olly Bryant travelled to Sebring race circuit in sunny Florida in early March for the HSR meeting. He was sharing a 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 with his father Grahame.
Qualifying
This was the first time Olly had driven this Mustang, but he knew Sebring well from last year’s success there in the family Morgan +8. The car had several braking issues that needed to be worked on, but he set a decent time of 2m26.547s to line the car up 3rd in class.

BRITISH GT ROUND 12 – SILVERSTONE |
August 17th, 2009
Fastest lap and strong podium challenge for Barwell at Silverstone
Barwell Motorsport featured strongly in the battle for honours during the latest round of the British GT Championship at Silverstone last weekend. Both the Aston Martin DBRS9 of Andrew Howard/Jamie Smyth and the Ginetta G50Z of Olly Bryant/Piers Johnson challenged for podium finishes on their way to eventual 5th and 6th places respectively, and Olly claimed the overall fastest lap of the race during his stint.
Race – Sunday, 2-Hours (82 laps)
The 2-hour British GT races feature re-fuelling and tyre changes for the teams, although this would be water off a duck’s back for the well-drilled Barwell crew, coming fresh from doing 23 such pit stops at the Spa 24 Hours! Despite the longer distance race, the action all the way through the British GT grid was pretty hectic from the green light. Andrew was starting the Beechdean Ice Cream-backed Aston Martin and immediately started to hound the Ford GT of Philip Walker for sixth place. The Ford man succumbed to Andrew’s challenge on lap four, and the charging Howard then immediately demoted the Ferrari of Phil Burton to claim fifth spot on the next lap.
